Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies, local storage, and similar technologies Updrone uses across its marketing site, portal, and capture clients — what each is for, what we deliberately do not do, and the choices you have.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Updrone, Inc. (“Updrone,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies across our marketing site, the Updrone portal, and the capture clients you use to submit imagery and data. It applies together with our Privacy Policy (/privacy), which describes how we handle personal information more broadly, and our Terms of Service (/terms).

“Cookies” are small text files a site stores in your browser; “local storage” and “session storage” are related browser mechanisms that hold data on your device. In this policy we use “cookies” as shorthand for all of these technologies. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your choices, and understand how the Service is used so we can keep it reliable.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

Some cookies are strictly necessary to operate the Service. These include authentication and session cookies that keep you signed in, associate your requests with your workspace, and protect the security and integrity of your session — for example, guarding against cross-site request forgery and detecting session tampering.

The Service does not function without these cookies, so they are set whenever you sign in and cannot be turned off through an in-product control. If your browser blocks them, you will not be able to sign in or use the portal.

3. Preference cookies

Preference cookies and local storage remember choices you make so the Service behaves the way you expect. These can include which workspace you last used, interface settings such as layout or display options, and dismissals of one-time prompts or notices.

Preference cookies are a convenience rather than a requirement. If they are cleared or blocked, the Service still works, but it may not remember your settings between visits and you may need to make some choices again.

4. Analytics and telemetry

We use first-party analytics and telemetry to understand how features are used, to measure reliability and performance, and to diagnose errors. This helps us see which parts of the Service are working well, where problems occur, and where to invest — for example, how long a page takes to load or whether an action failed.

Cookieless first-party page views on updrone.com (path, referring hostname, campaign tags, coarse device / browser / OS family, and an approximate city estimated by the hosting provider) are not cookies. They set nothing on your device. A Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal turns that beacon off. Conversion events (which button was clicked, how far you scrolled) wait for the analytics category in our consent banner and are described in the Privacy Policy (/privacy).

We collect and use this information consistent with our Privacy Policy (/privacy). It is first-party and used to operate and improve the Service; we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to track you for marketing across other sites.

5. What we do not do

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not serve ads in the Service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not use cookies to track you across unrelated websites or to follow your activity around the web. Our cookies are focused on running the Service you signed up for and understanding how it performs.

6. Third-party cookies

Certain features rely on subprocessors that may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. For example, our payment processor may set cookies during checkout to complete and secure a transaction, and embedded map tiles or similar embedded content may set cookies to load and function.

These cookies are controlled by those providers, not by Updrone, and are governed by their respective policies. The vendors we rely on to deliver the Service are listed at /subprocessors, and our use of them is described in our Privacy Policy (/privacy).

7. Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you view the cookies stored, block cookies from some or all sites, and delete existing cookies. You can also clear your browser’s local storage. The steps vary by browser, so consult your browser’s help pages for details.

Please note that blocking or clearing strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and prevent the portal from working. Blocking preference or analytics cookies is safe to do and will not stop the Service from functioning, though it may reduce convenience or limit the insight we have into reliability.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our practices or the technologies we use change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and take reasonable steps to make the update visible, such as posting notice in the Service.

Questions about this Cookie Policy or the technologies described here can be sent to support@updrone.com. For more on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy (/privacy).
